FAQs

Frequently asked questions that we ask you when starting a new project. Ask yourself these questions:

Do you have a timeline?

Having a general idea of when you would like your website to launch helps us determine how long the project will take. We start with an end date and work backwards to plan the phases depending on your needs. The steps include: consultation, design, feedback, building, testing, domain and hosting set-up and finally the launch.

Do you have images or do we need to use stock?

Images can make or break a website. We always encourage people to take the time to take or purchase high-quality images. Large images on websites are very popular and can add to your professionalism. There are a couple of options like buying stock images or hiring a photographer.

Do we need to hire a photographer?

If you determined from the last question that buying stock photos isn't for you, then hiring a photographer is a great idea. We work with photographers and can facilitate the process or connect you with one. Whether it's a head shot or images of products, hiring a professional can take your website from so-so to amazing.

Do you have a budget in mind?

Having an idea of how much want to spend is always a good idea. It can help you prioritize. Some costs to keep in mind, in addition to our fees, include a yearly domain name fee and a monthly hosting fee. If you are planning on ecommerce, there is a percentage fee per purchase swipe. We can help you navigate through all of the options.

Do you have content, if not, how long will it take to get it together?

Content is key. Many people think that the design comes first, but the design is really determined by the content. What you are saying on your website is as important as the way it looks. Having content also helps us in the design phase to determine how much space is needed. Concise and specific text also helps with search engine optimization.

We can also offer assistance if you need help writing or putting together content.

Do you have a logo we can use? (vector)

If you don't have a logo and need one, we can help! We make logos in addition to websites. If you do have a logo, do you have access to it? A vector file is best. A vector file is generally made in Illustrator as opposed to Photoshop. It can be enlarged without pixelation (fuzziness).

Do you need a content management system?

We offer web maintenance as part of our services, but sometimes people want to be able to make changes to their website on their own. In this case, we put their website into a content management system (CMS) like WordPress. This is becoming a more and more popular options as it gives clients more flexibility. If you do want to use a CMS, but decide you don't have time to make updates, we will still be available to make edits for you.

Do you have a domain name and a hosting service?

Buying a domain is very important when building a website. It's how people find you on the web. We can assist you in choosing a url that makes sense and is easy to remember. There are many options, even when the name you wanted is already taken. We can also make these purchases for you so that you don't have to navigate the confusion of which hosing provider to use and what options to choose.

Will you need new email accounts?

You can purchase email accounts that corresponds with your url for a more cohesive presence. You can also forward these addresses to your existing emails like Gmail or Hotmail so that you don't have to check multiple accounts. We can assist with this entire process.
